    IT Support Officer - 3 month contract opportunity 

    We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Officer to join a local council in Sydney's lower North Shore for an initial 3 month contract w

    About the Role:
    As an IT Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions. You will perform a range of tasks, from troubleshooting hardware and software problems to managing user accounts, maintaining the website and intranet, and assisting with IT projects. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide first-level IT support (help desk) for hardware, software, and applications to users.
    • Perform routine network operational tasks, such as user account management, patching, and backups.
    • Support various application systems (e.g., survey software, requisitioning system) in collaboration with relevant departments.
    • Assist with the installation and upgrade of hardware and software.
    • Develop and manage the functionality and content of the website and intranet.
    • Track, report, and audit hardware, software, and IT systems.
    • Contribute to IT projects and other tasks as required.
    Do you have:
    • Broad knowledge of, and experience in, the use of PC hardware and software, and in troubleshooting routine faults.
    • In-depth knowledge of technologies and applications used in creating and maintaining websites and web pages.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyse information, solve problems, and make sound judgments.
    • Demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service.
    • Ability to meet project deadlines, manage constraints, and competing deadlines.
    • Qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    Desirable Selection Criteria:
    • Previous experience in a similar role in local government.

    • Network: VMware with HP Nimble SAN and Microsoft Active Directory

      • e-Services, i-Services (Windows, IBM Websphere, IIS)

      • Microsoft Exchange and Office 365
