The Opportunity
The
Senior Officer – Traffic Management Design
(TMD)
will provide expert traffic management and road corridor operations support to all Gympie Regional Council directorates. This role involves developing and reviewing traffic management plans, permit applications, and traffic guidance schemes to enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency across council sites and the transport infrastructure network. The position also oversees Council's traffic management policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Essential Knowledge & Skills - Develop and review Traffic Management Plans
and Traffic Guidance Schemes.
- Assess externally prepared Traffic Management Plans
as part of permit requests for external/private works on Council roads.
- Provide expert advice on traffic management
across the organisation.
- Conduct traffic management audits
and provide recommendations to improve safety and functionality on Council worksites.
- Review, maintain, and ensure compliance with Council's traffic management panel arrangements.
- Monitor and review regulatory changes to maintain compliance
with industry standards.
- Raise awareness of Council’s traffic management policies and procedures by conducting site visits and awareness sessions.
- Support the coordination of traffic and road operations, as well as road corridor management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain auditing, monitoring, and reporting systems.
- Apply sound judgment, initiative, and confidentiality
while continuously improving business systems and processes.
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Promote a cooperative team environment
that encourages problem-solving and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain a positive organisational image
to enhance customer relations and service delivery.
Mandatory Requirements - Traffic Management Design (TMD) - Open Qualification
(Department of Transport and Main Roads).
- Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
(must be current and maintained).
- Construction Industry White/Blue Card.
