Supervisor (maintenance & minor works)

• Strong general supervisory skills.
• Experience in maintenance and minor works projects.
• Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role.
• Current Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) General Safety Induction Card.

• Supervise and support office staff, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project planning and delivery.
• Conduct high-quality condition assessments and cost estimations to achieve effective and cost-efficient project outcomes.
• Prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations, tender documentation, and project trade packages, including material lists and construction schedules.
• Oversee and coordinate the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects undertaken by the State Department.
• Carry out condition assessments for State Department clients, including inspections of building elements and construction materials, and collecting suspected asbestos-containing materials for laboratory testing.
• Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, employment equity, and anti-discrimination policies.
• Implement and uphold the safety management system (SMS), including:
• Conducting and facilitating WHS audits in collaboration with the Principal WHS Advisor.
• Performing on-site WHS inspections, including plant and equipment checks.
• Ensuring all job documentation includes appropriate risk assessment documentation, such as safe work method statements.
• Work closely with WHS Advisors and the WHS Manager to promote a consistent approach to workplace health and safety while raising awareness and educating staff and contractors on best practices.
