    Public Sector People (PSP) have partnered with a council in the northern suburbs and would like to offer a Senior GIS Analyst the opportunity to join their dynamic team. 

    We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior GIS Analyst to play a pivotal role in the continuous development, implementation, and management of the Council’s Geographic Information System (GIS). In this position, you will work closely with key stakeholders, ensuring that our GIS applications and systems are tailored to meet both current and future needs. You will be responsible for developing, administering, and managing GIS systems while ensuring data integrity, application stability, and high service levels for our end-users.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • GIS System Support: Maintain spatial datasets, manage security, and improve GIS applications and integrations.
    • Application Development and Analysis: Develop and support GIS applications, field data capture tools, and web mapping solutions.
    • Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting, create FME processes, and offer training for GIS users.
    • Data Management: Ensure data quality, integrate external datasets, and create new spatial data.
    • Mapping and Cartography: Prepare high-quality maps for internal and external use.
    Criteria: 
    • Tertiary qualifications in GIS, computer science, or a related field, or significant hands-on experience in GIS and spatial technologies within a Local Government setting.
    • Proven expertise in GIS application development and integrating with other database management systems.
    • In-depth experience with spatial databases, particularly MS SQL Server.
    • Extensive knowledge of GIS applications, including AutoCAD Map 3D, QGIS, Intramaps, SQL Server Spatial, FME Desktop, and FME Server.
    • Strong experience with raster configuration and web services (e.g., Geoserver, WFS, WMS).
    • Experience or familiarity with Local Government processes is highly desirable.
