$48 per hour plus super We are seeking a
Safety Advisor
to provide expert guidance to support leaders in managing workforce safety, enhancing risk management capabilities, and driving safety improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on occupational health, safety, injury management, and wellbeing, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
- Identify and address safety and wellbeing issues, collaborating with internal and external resources under the guidance of the Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator.
- Regularly meet with People Leaders to review safety and wellbeing issues, including incident reports, return-to-work plans, and risk management strategies.
- Support People and Safety leadership with projects and initiatives as needed.
- Assist in preparing documentation for conciliations, mediations, investigations, and hearings.
- Support the continuous improvement of Council’s Safety Management System.
Key Criteria: - Relevant qualifications and experience in occupational health and safety, injury management, and return-to-work coordination.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies to guide leaders, employees, and Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) on risk management, including hazard identification, ergonomics, chemical risks, psychological safety, and wellbeing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, correspondence, and presentations for a range of stakeholders.
- Public sector experience will be highly regarded.
