Public Sector People (PSP) are working closely with a council based on the north-west rural fringe of Melbourne to recruit a Recovery Events Officer for a 3-and-a-half-month temporary contract.This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting community recovery efforts in a vibrant and scenic region of central Victoria.
This role will work on projects related to storm and flooding disaster recovery.
Location:
Central Victoria, North-west of Melbourne (approximately 45 minutes from Melbourne CBD) Duration:

Hybrid (2 days working from home) Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with community members and groups to assess recovery needs.
- Develop and implement a recovery event calendar to support community resilience.
- Plan and deliver community events, including some after-hours commitments.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring up-to-date information on cases and events.
- Keep key web pages updated with relevant recovery information.
- Work closely with Communications to develop news items, newsletter content, and other community updates.
- Provide administrative support, including grant reporting, acquittals, and procurement.
Key Criteria:
- Experience in event management or delivery.
- Experience working in groups to achieve a shared outcome.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including some after-hours event delivery.
- Local council experience
