Responsibilities: - Oversee and coordinate all aspects of building projects, including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities, ensuring high-quality and suitable outcomes for clients.
- Manage and align the activities of project staff, external consultants, building contractors, and other business units to achieve project goals.
- Maintain strong contract coordination across both traditional and non-traditional contract frameworks.
- Engage directly with clients on daily operational matters, ensuring clear communication and effective service delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements while meeting the State Department’s profitability targets.
- Facilitate seamless collaboration among project team members (both State Department and external stakeholders) by ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout the pre-design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction phases.
- Lead negotiations with contractors, consultants, local authorities, and internal stakeholders to identify cost-effective solutions and drive value for money.
- Apply professional knowledge and experience to enhance discussions and ensure effective stakeholder management.
- Monitor project performance by generating variance and exception reports, auditing project teams, and ensuring timely cost control measures.
- Support the Principal Project Leader/Senior Project Manager in assessing achievable service fees and, when necessary, seek approval for client billing.
- Uphold quality assurance processes to maintain high standards within the work area.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and other team members.
- Proactively oversee team performance, ensuring professional conduct and continuous development.
Key Skills & Requirements: - Demonstrated experience and expertise in building and construction industry project management.
- Possession of a valid Queensland Class C Open Driver’s Licence.
- A relevant tertiary qualification (such as Certificate IV in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, or Quantity Surveying) and/or AIPM RegPM or an equivalent certification is desirable but not mandatory.
