We are looking for a dedicated HR Officer to join the HR team for a 2-month contract at our local council in the South East. This role is perfect for someone eager to contribute to recruitment and HR functions while gaining valuable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Selection:
- Administer and monitor the Council’s online Recruitment system.
- Provide guidance to staff and managers on the recruitment process.
- Assist in the preparation and posting of job advertisements.
- Manage recruitment communications with external media and providers.
- Prepare and distribute offer letters and notify unsuccessful applicants.
- File and archive recruitment documentation.
- Create and maintain personnel files in the electronic document system (Objective).
- Administer the Student Employment Program and maintain recruitment statistics.
Organisational Development Support:
- Provide administrative support to the Organisational Development team.
- Respond to general inquiries from staff and the public.
- Prepare and distribute letters of variation.
- Manage departmental correspondence.
Key Skills & Experience:
- A qualification in Human Resources or related field, or relevant work experience.
- Experience in administering recruitment and selection processes.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR Information Systems (experience with Objective is a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
