Public Sector People are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner with a strong focus on Employee & Industrial Relations to join a Local Council in South-East Melbourne on a 3-month temporary contract with potential to extend.
This role is critical in providing ER/IR expertise, supporting leaders in navigating complex employee relations matters, enterprise agreement interpretation, and workplace investigations. The successful candidate will play a key role in coaching leaders and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and frameworks while driving HR initiatives across the Council.
Key Responsibilities: - Partner with department leaders to provide expert ER/IR advice and build leadership capability.
- Manage workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and case management.
- Interpret and provide guidance on Council’s Enterprise Agreements and HR policies.
- Support workforce change initiatives, including restructures and organisational development.
- Assist in talent acquisition, performance management, and HR policy implementation.
Key Requirements: - Proven experience in an HR Business Partnering role with a strong ER/IR focus.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, enterprise agreements, and industrial relations frameworks.
- Experience in managing grievances, disputes, and complex employee relations cases.
- Ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels with confidence and discretion.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
