    Public Sector People (PSP) have partnered with a council in the south-eastern suburbs and would like to offer an experienced Executive Assistant the opportunity to support Elected Representatives in the Office of Council. 

    Location: South-Eastern suburbs
    * Duration: 3-month temporary contract & possibility of a permanent role 
    * Rate: Band 6 


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide high-level executive support to Councillors including managing communications (calls, emails, enquiries), scheduling, travel, and briefing for meetings.
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as Members of Parliament, Government agencies, and neighboring Councils.
    • Coordinate and manage customer requests for Councillors, ensuring timely responses and proper documentation in IT systems for easy access.
    • Support corporate events by preparing speeches, notes, and briefing packs, ensuring appropriate representation from Elected Representatives and other key figures.
    • Provide administrative support for Council Meetings, Briefings, and other committee-related activities.
    • Conduct research, offer governance-related advice, and ensure accurate data management for Elected Representatives.
    • Prepare and coordinate written reports for corporate and external compliance (e.g., Council reports, media releases, annual business plans).

    Key Criteria: 
    • Proven experience providing executive administration and support within a political environment, preferably within a local council. 
    • Experience supporting with speech preparation and meeting briefs. 
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in project management.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • The willingness to undergo a police check 
    • Working with Children Check, or the willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check
