About the role
The Technical Services department at Randwick City Council are looking for a highly motivated, personable and proactive Drainage Engineer to join the team.
The drainage engineer role oversees a diverse range of drainage and flood related projects, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to solidify, and further develop their skillset. The role is responsible for the planning and delivery of the drainage capital works program, design of new drainage networks and project management of large-scale floodplain management projects. The candidate will frequently liaise with internal and external stakeholders, informing the relevant parties on flood/drainage related matters.
This is a dynamic role offering significant autonomy, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities, ensuring your work is engaging and far from monotonous.

We're looking for someone with
  • Experience in leading the delivery of drainage renewal and upgrade projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in drainage analysis and design utilising various computer software programs including AutoCAD, Drains and ArcMap or other GIS software
  • Ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with community and council representatives
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, as well as report writing and formal correspondence
  • Knowledge and experience of Local Government Engineering
