Role
Join a collaborative and enthusiastic team, providing essential administrative support to the Parks and Natural Environment division on a 2-month contract. In this role, you will deliver excellent customer service, assist with a variety of administrative tasks, and help ensure the smooth operation of the department. You’ll play a key role in supporting internal teams, managing records, and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative Assistance: Provide support to the Manager, Coordinators, and Team Leaders, including preparing and processing correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and event permits.
- Customer Service: Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding Parks and Natural Environment operations, ensuring professional and efficient service to all customers.
- Record Keeping & Systems: Maintain accurate records using Council’s CM9 Records Management system and ensure customer service requests are recorded in the Authority CRM system.
- Office Management: Assist with office purchases, petty cash reconciliation, and other administrative duties as needed. Update and maintain information boards and electronic notice boards.
- Meeting Support: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute meeting materials.
- Emergency Response: Assist with emergency response activities as required, ensuring the team is ready and responsive.
Qualifications:
- Education: Industry-based qualifications or relevant on-the-job training are highly regarded.
- Experience: Experience in an office environment, ideally within a customer-facing role. Knowledge of Parks and Natural Environment operations is a plus.
- Skills: Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and other relevant software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attributes: Demonstrated time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to assess and respond to urgent matters effectively.

- Proven ability to manage administrative tasks and provide high-quality customer service to a wide range of clients.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Experience in using computer applications and systems relevant to office administration.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and direct inquiries to the appropriate team or individual for action.
- Local Council Experience

- Driver’s License: Desirable.
