    About the Role:

    Public Sector People are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AO6 Procurement Officer to join a dynamic team within a Queensland Government State Department. This pivotal role requires a proactive and strategic thinker to manage and streamline procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies and processes.
    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities.
    • Prepare and evaluate tender documents, contracts, and agreements.
    • Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
    • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and guidelines.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and deliver solutions.
    • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics.
    • Provide advice and support on procurement-related matters.

    Key Requirements:
    • Proven experience in a similar procurement role, preferably within the public sector.
    • Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
    • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
    • Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
    Highly Regarded: Experience in undertaking general procurement, and experience establishing and managing procurement activities within governance frameworks, policies, and processes. This includes an understanding and interpretation of Whole of Government contracts, templates, contract management plans, sourcing, significant procurement planning, and ensuring value for money.

    Successful candidates will be located in Brisbane or surrounding suburbs. Experience working within a government department or local council is highly regarded.
